Brief History of the Faculty of Geological and Mining Engineering
The Faculty of Geological and Mining Engineering has emerged in the scientific and research life of the country in order to improve the level of national economic growth and meet the real needs of the society for training scientific engineering cadres nationally and internationally. It is one of the well-known faculties whose graduates have played a fundamental role in the existing problems of our society to improve the level of the national economy of the country in all educational and educational production institutions.
The Faculty of Geological and Mining Engineering began its activities in 2014 and has presented a large number of young people to the society as undergraduate engineers from the departments of exploration and exploration of solid minerals and exploration and extraction of oil and gas fields.
The number of academic staff members of this faculty is (10), including (6) with a master's degree, (4) with a bachelor's degree, and (1) who is continuing his studies at the master's level, with the academic rank of associate professor to associate professor candidate.
In this faculty, (220) students are currently studying courses that are taught by professors with the academic rank of associate professor to associate professor candidate and respected paid professors at bachelor's and master's levels.
Currently, (1) faculty professors have been introduced and sent to Iran to raise their academic level to a master's degree. So far, this faculty has presented (443) young people, (391) of whom are male and (52) of whom are female, as bachelor's engineers to the society.
The Faculty of Geological and Mining Engineering has two departments, which include (Department of Exploration and Extraction of Oil and Gas Fields and Exploration and Exploration of Solid Minerals).
In the year (1403), the sixth graduating class of this faculty from the departments of Exploration and Exploration of Solid Minerals and Exploration and Exploration of Oil and Gas Fields, by preparing diploma projects in various subjects with economic importance and successfully defending them in the presence of the commission for the defense of diploma projects, they obtained the defense and graduation diploma certificate for the Bachelor of Engineering degree.
The duration of study in this faculty covers four and a half years, in which educational services are provided to students based on a specific educational plan (curriculum). The Faculty of Geological and Mining Engineering adorns the youth with the ornaments of science and knowledge and presents them to the society as young engineers and specialists in engineering sectors to meet the needs and necessities of the labor market and ultimately strengthen the country's national economy by way of a bachelor's degree engineer.
In the Faculty of Geological and Mining Engineering, the youth of the homeland, after learning professional engineering knowledge in the form of theoretical and practical courses and production and educational practices of the aforementioned disciplines, during the nine semesters, the ninth semester of which includes the implementation of production or pre-diploma applications, the preparation and arrangement of the diploma project in the presence of the commission of diploma projects, defend it and graduate as a bachelor's degree engineer.
